She obtained the degrees BLC (cum laude) and LLB (cum laude) from the University of Pretoria. During her law studies, she also completed a post-graduate course in Publishing which included subjects such as Design & Production, Information Technology and Publishing Management. While studying, she joined Spoor & Fisher, and later served her articles of clerkship at the same firm, and completed SAIIPL exams.
Her trade mark practice is split between trade mark prosecution and litigation. She also drafts and consults on agreements relating to copyright, software, publishing, websites, IP licences, and related commercial aspects. She further has a keen interest in data protection and information laws.
She further specialises in franchising and has published various articles on this subject. In particular, she assists in starting up new franchises.
